Holiday Season

This is the first year that Baby Lentil , er Toddler Lentil Big Girl Lentil will really get the whole idea of Christmas and presents.

It started innocently enough. A month or so ago I started telling her that we could add toys she liked to her Christmas list. It was a great way to distract her when she wanted to take half the store home with her. But now, she in theory has a Christmas list that would fill several catalogs. I don't know how much she understands that she is not getting EVERYTHING on the list. How sad would it be if she gets half a dozen awesome things but is heartbroken by what she doesn't get?

Her list is doll-heavy, LaLaLoopsy and baby dolls mostly. Occasionally Polly Pocket but honestly I think they would frustrate her more as she tried to get the rubbery outfits on the tiny dolls.

We have some toys ready purchased, last years Christmas clearance or purchases that were shelved for the right occasion, but I now realize that having empowered her to make her list, some of these might disappoint her.

Then again, this is a girl who can make an hours activity out of torn bits of paper, so I think we'll be okay.
