If my baby wants to be a girlie girl, that's fine by me. It wouldn't be my choice, but that's it in a nutshell: it's not my choice. However...
At 8 months Baby Lentil can't yet tell me, so her style is simply what I pick for her. Our future Halloweens may be filled with princesses and ballerinas, but this year she's going to be a Jedi Knight. And if I could choose another costume for her: astronaut, no question about it. I want her to look to the stars with awe and wonder. I want her to be making a mental list of what math and science classes she'll need to take to apply to NASA. And I don't want her to even consider the idea that Space is somehow a domain reserved for boys.
5 Minutes for Mom is hosting a contest to win a costume from Pedal Cars and Retro Collectibles. I think it's pretty clear what I'd choose if I won!
